An anomolous encounter, like the drill team, can break down social barriers. Filled with the euphoria of the drummers a stranger and I turned to each other with smiles on our faces and made a quick exchange about how you never know what to expect on Philadelphia's streets. Seeing an opportunity, and that this woman was getting on a motorbike with her friend/partner I asked to take their photo. They guy said, "do what you want, I can't hear anything through the helmet!". I took a four quick snaps because I was worrying about holding them up, and now regret not getting more (Erik Kim says always take at least 10 per cent more photos than you think you need). But I think this one came out OK - his pose is strong and "bikerly", whatever that means.
